Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant III in our Family Medicine department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our physicians and clinical staff. Under the direction of management and physician leadership, you will perform and oversee functions related to clinical activities, including maintaining patient flow, performing technical procedures, and collaborating with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and providers with primary healthcare and patient care management
  • Collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow
  • Interact with outside healthcare facilities and agencies involving patient care and insurance
  • Maintain updated competencies and demonstrate ability to speak to leadership and accreditation bodies about process and workflow
  • Perform front office duties to provide coverage as needed
  • Provide coverage in other departments or locations as needed
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and support the model of patient and family-centered care
  • Perform and be formally assigned two additional responsibilities as part of primary duties, which should be at least 20% or more of dedicated time
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited MA program, including a clinical rotation, or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of relevant experience or a completed Beaumont MA internship and 6 months of MA work experience
  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross
  • CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list
