The Medical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider for our Outpatient Infusion Center and Acute Care Clinic provides direct patient care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, including attending physicians and other medical professionals by collecting and documenting data, obtaining/ordering diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, laboratory studies and professional consultations.

Promote and maintain high standards of patient care throughout the continuum of cancer diagnosis.

Order appropriate diagnostic imaging and tests to determine medical and post treatment diagnoses, patient conditions, treatment toxicities.

Chart patient progress maintaining detailed and accurate health records

Assessment of acutely ill patients awaiting admission to the hospital

Collaboration with inpatient medical team for handoff

Communication among multi-disciplinary teams to support patient care.

Collaborating, supporting and building strong relationships with supervising, back-up supervising physicians, APP colleagues, and team members.

Participate in education of patients, family members, new staff, students and other learners.

Protect patient confidentiality, maintain ethics and abide by North Carolina laws and Duke Health System policies.

Graduate of MSN or DNP accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

Graduate of ARC accredited Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree Physician Assistant Program preferred

Any NP certification that treats adults (FNP, ANP, AGNP, AGACNP, etc.)

APP experience is preferred, ideally Oncology/Hematologic Malignancy experience, but recent or new grads, graduating by December 2024 are welcome to apply.

Ability to work in a team-oriented clinic

Willingness to be flexible and available to support the team.

Full-Time, rotating hours, averaging 40 hour week to provide coverage Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am - 8:30pm.
