Position Overview:

Credit Risk Analyst I-III:

The Credit Risk Analyst I-III plays a crucial role in evaluating risk and analyzing Private Banking credit applications to streamline the credit decision-making process. This position involves collaboration with Private Banking Officers and/or Credit Administrators, as well as direct engagement with clients and potential clients alongside Private Banking Officers. Responsibilities include providing assistance on renewals and modifications, documenting credit decisions with clear rationale, and ensuring compliance with CPB quality standards, lending policies, and underwriting protocols. Additionally, the analyst will support team portfolio management and coordinate necessary documentation with the Documentation Department and external legal counsel as required.

Credit Risk Analyst II:

This level may require supporting underwriting needs across various Bank Business Units, including Commercial Banking, Business Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Corporate Banking, as necessary.

Credit Risk Analyst III:

This role involves facilitating training for Private Banking Officers and Underwriters I & II, reviewing their work before it is presented to the Underwriting Manager, and potentially supporting underwriting needs in other Bank Business Units as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive and timely analyses by evaluating financial data and resolving issues through internal and external resources.
- Recommend suitable loan structures that align with both customer needs and bank objectives.
- Prepare clear and concise written communications regarding credit actions, ensuring transparency in underwriting decisions and supporting evidence.
- Facilitate training for Private Banking Officers and Underwriters I & II.
- Review the submissions of Underwriters I & II prior to escalation to the Underwriting Manager.
- Provide support for underwriting requirements across various Bank Business Units as needed.

Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Assist the team in understanding and adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Help minimize exceptions, delinquencies, and other compliance issues.
  • Promptly identify and address loan re-grades.
Financial Performance:
  • Contribute to the team's efforts to meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year institution in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.

Experience:
- Credit Risk Analyst I: 1+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or lending is preferred.
- Credit Risk Analyst II: 2+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or lending is required.
- Credit Risk Analyst III: 3+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, or lending is required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, including moving or lifting items up to 20 pounds.
  • Proficient use of standard office equipment, including phones, copiers, and computers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and comprehend bank-related documents.
  • Capability to work in a standard office environment, involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.
