About This Role

Textron Systems is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Wilmington, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Weapon Systems business area, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for military applications.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the detailed design of structural components, ensuring they meet the required specifications and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and integrate mechanical components and systems, leveraging your expertise in CAD design and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Prepare and direct high-quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings, utilizing 3D digital product development tools and Siemens solutions.
  • Transition product design to production and test, ensuring seamless integration and minimizing design errors.
  • Write technical and proposal documents, creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in a related field. You should also be proficient in Siemens' Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Product Lifecycle Management Digital Integration Model (NX, Teamcenter), including product specification development, surface finish, and material specification.

A Secret level security clearance is required for this position, and you should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment, interacting with suppliers, and communicating complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
