Job Description

**Job Title:** Geospatial Design Engineer

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Design Engineer to join our team at Millennium. As a Geospatial Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing advanced fiber optic cable network designs, fiber-to-the-home designs, and related support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Acquisition and Management:
    • Gather and process geographic data from various sources, including aerial imagery, LiDAR, GPS, and other relevant data.
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality.
    • Create and maintain geodatabases.
  • GIS Analysis and Modeling:
    • Perform spatial analysis to identify patterns, relationships, and trends in geographic data.
    • Develop and apply geographic models to simulate real-world scenarios.
    • Conduct site suitability analysis and impact assessments.
  • Design and Development:
    • Design telecom networks using ArcGIS software.
    • Create and manage geographic information-based design deliverables.
    • Outside Plant (OSP) fiber optic design, planning, and engineering for new and existing networks.
  • Visualization and Communication:
    • Create maps, staking sheets, fiber counts, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and other deliverables for end clients.
    • Quality Assurance and Quality Control of peers' network designs.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Experience:
    • ESRI tools in the Telecommunications industry.
    • Telecommunications Engineering.
    • FTTx design, Outside Plant (OSP) design, Telecom GIS deliverable creation.
  • Skills:
    • Leading with genuine curiosity to learn and understand the challenges of prospects and clients.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks.
    • Ability to understand, read, and interpret data.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
