Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at the Milton Family Community Center. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years old.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily classroom operations of the Infant, Toddler, or Preschool Classroom, including providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curricula based on NAEYC program guidelines, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Program Director and Lead Teacher.
  • Ensure compliance with VT licensing regulations and NAEYC criteria for accreditation, including record keeping, health and safety, classroom environment, and emergency response planning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and collaborative partners to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • Meet minimum qualifications for an early childhood teacher assistant as described by the Vermont Child Development Division for Licensed Child Care Center Programs and NAEYC.
  • At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger, or completion of a relevant certification or degree program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Early Childhood Career Ladder Level One (1) or Two (2) Certificate.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services.
