Job Overview

This role is pivotal in supporting the general manager with the everyday management of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the entire restaurant operations in the absence of the general manager.
  • Assists in ensuring the restaurant is adequately staffed, fully operational, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Helps the general manager with daily opening and closing procedures to guarantee quality service; manages any necessary adjustments.
  • Contributes to profit and loss management by aiding in food cost control, inventory oversight, labor management, and purchasing processes.
  • Ensures all service standards are upheld to the highest level.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all menu items and ensures they are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Exhibits a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring compliance with health department standards.
  • Completes all assigned opening and closing tasks daily.
  • Fosters positive employee relations by promoting professionalism and teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferably, candidates should have at least one year of experience as an assistant manager in a full-service restaurant. A current food handlers certification is highly desirable.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both employees and guests using clear and positive language.
  • Capability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to fulfill essential job functions.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage stressful situations during peak periods.
  • Proficiency in a computer-based business environment and performing routine mathematical calculations.
