Job Description

Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Psychologist, providing direct counselling support and early intervention services to students in need. As a key member of our Wellbeing Team, you will work collaboratively with teachers, families, and other professionals to enhance student health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct counselling services to students with mild to moderate mental health needs, applying sound theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies for students with complex needs, collaborating with families and other professionals as required.
  • Contribute to policies and operational practices that guide the work of the Wellbeing Team, including other school wellbeing staff and teachers.
  • Provide professional learning to colleagues to build their capacity to improve student learning and developmental outcomes.
  • Maintain professional competence and continued professional learning, including attending professional development activities throughout the year.
  • Meet relevant policies and legislative requirements in relation to student health information privacy.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor qualification or specialist/postgraduate qualification in Psychology.
  • Demonstrate direct counselling experience.
  • Hold a current Working With Children Check.
  • For Psychology applicants, hold full registration with the requisite professional body and specialisation in education and/or developmental psychology.
