About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our MFM Clinic, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Baptist Medical Center.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures, collaborating with staff radiologists, and serving as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently perform imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible (required within 1 year of hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekend, and holiday availability
