About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our MFM Clinic, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Operate radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently perform imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible (required within 1 year of hire)
  • Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty according to facility need
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
