Job Title: Supervisor, Registered Nurse

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Supervisor, Registered Nurse. This is a full-time, day shift position located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to supervise and lead our nursing team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of nurses and medical assistants to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Assign nursing personnel and staff to specific patients and providers, designating shift and schedule assignments.
  • Perform supervisory functions, including selection, termination, training, performance appraisal, disciplinary counseling, and actions.
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other resources to promote and facilitate communication, problem-solving, decision-making, crisis intervention, resource utilization, and conflict management.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized plans of care, incorporating age-specific considerations and patient/family teaching.
  • May assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained, and administer medication, including IV medications as required.
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols, maintaining a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk, and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information.
  • Participate in achieving and maintaining AAAHC accreditation and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the clinics clinical model(s), such as Patient Centered Medical Home, etc.
  • Review patient information/reports in collaboration with the healthcare team, facilitate and/or participate in patient care conferences, if applicable.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
