Key Responsibilities

The Coordinator will act as a vital resource, providing guidance and support on various veteran and military-related matters, which include:

  • Translating military skills into civilian job qualifications
  • Fostering military cultural awareness
  • Addressing veteran transition challenges
  • Implementing Guard and Reserve-friendly HR practices
  • Understanding the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
  • Promoting Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)
  • Facilitating employment policies and procedures
  • Offering career counseling and job placement assistance
  • Attracting veteran talent through strategic initiatives
Relationship Building

The incumbent will cultivate strong relationships with military and veteran organizations, ensuring effective collaboration with various veteran support entities and local/state agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with 1-3 years of relevant experience in developing veteran services
Preferred Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with colleagues and the public
  • Experience coordinating with diverse veteran and military service organizations
  • Commitment to advocating for veteran needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with community organizations
  • Knowledge of veteran transition services and federal/state veteran programs is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with veteran/military organizations
  • Strategic thinking to enhance business opportunities within competitive markets
  • Representation of company programs at professional events
  • Continuous professional development through self-education and community involvement
  • Participation in departmental meetings to report on various metrics and requirements
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Mental agility to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $18 to $22
