Core Responsibilities:

The Senior Staff Accountant will:

  • Manage the bonus database, including processing payroll requests for weekly distributions and recording bonus accruals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Payroll department to ensure accurate processing of approved bonuses and address any discrepancies.
  • Reconcile bonus-related balance sheet accounts with various external systems, investigating variances as necessary.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and reporting needs.
  • Support Directors and brand accountants by analyzing and clarifying unexpected variances in bonus accounts.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and lead initiatives for process enhancements.
  • Assist with external audit processes.
  • Provide cross-training and backup support for the Payroll Analyst.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Competencies:

  • Proficient understanding of payroll accounting principles.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to prioritize effectively when circumstances change.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, with a preference for at least 1 year in payroll accounting.
