Facilities Maintenance Technician

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
This role involves ensuring that all facilities, structures, and operational machinery are maintained in optimal condition and functionality. The technician will also engage in mentoring others when possible. Applicants should possess a comprehensive understanding of various maintenance disciplines, with a particular expertise in at least one area (such as welding, electrical systems, or PLC programming). Familiarity with the CAMS maintenance system and the ability to procure necessary materials and supplies is essential. Strong leadership capabilities are required. All activities must adhere to GMP and safety protocols. The technician plays a crucial role in supporting the effective and profitable functioning of the facility. Maintaining a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration with clients, colleagues, and supervisors is vital while meeting performance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently plans and executes maintenance tasks from initiation to completion.
- Must be physically capable of utilizing various tools related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and welding. Proficient use of equipment such as saws, drills, and power tools is required.
- Accountable for the upkeep of all production and support equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and repaired as needed.
- Responsible for submitting requisitions for supplies and materials necessary for maintenance activities.
- Leads technical projects, including the installation of new machinery.
- Manages work orders for essential repairs.
- Oversees the maintenance of production areas, ensuring they are safe and sanitary.
- Completes daily time tracking accurately.
- May be required to respond to work emergencies outside of regular hours.
- Enforces departmental policies and procedures, setting a positive example.
- Performs additional maintenance tasks as requested by supervisors or in response to emergencies.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Conducts boiler checks at the start of shifts and hourly as required.
- Responsible for the startup or shutdown of the boiler as necessary.
- Participates in annual inspections of the boiler system.
- Maintains the steam system, including repairs or replacements of steam traps, valves, and filters.
