Information System Security Specialist

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer to join our team. As an Information System Security Officer, you will be responsible for working with information system owners, system administrators, cybersecurity risk managers, and authorizing officials to discover cyber risks and develop mitigation plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess technical, environmental, and personnel details supporting the information system to identify potential cyber risks.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans to reduce the attack surface and protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate with clients to translate security concepts and make informed decisions to secure their information systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats and technologies to ensure effective risk management.
- 5+ years of experience working with information technology (IT) or within the cybersecurity field.
- Experience implementing or assessing security controls within an information system.
- Knowledge of the risk management framework and NIST 800-53.
- Ability to effectively monitor progress of remediation.
- Ability to work with information systems owners, risk managers, and security professionals to ensure the implementation, identification, and tracking of security control implementation within an information system.
- Top Secret clearance.
- Associate's degree.
- Experience supporting non-traditional IT systems and Linux.
- DoD 8570 compliant Information Assurance Management Level I or higher Certification.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen Hamilton is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,300.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD).
