Job Title: Engineering Manager

Premera Blue Cross is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Enterprise Delivery Services (EDS) team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our engineering systems and processes, with a strong focus on Azure Cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Management and Optimization: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering systems with a focus on Azure Cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Azure DevOps: Utilize Azure DevOps for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, manage version control, project tracking, and release management using Azure DevOps tools.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities, foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Technical Expertise and Support: Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to Azure Cloud and hybrid environments, stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, cyber, product development, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of systems, communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or 4 years' experience in IT.
  • 6 years' experience in information technology, application development, system administration/engineering, or systems development, including previous program or team leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience with Azure Cloud, hybrid environments, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading projects.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
