Job Summary:

We are seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining open lines of communication between the warehouse, corporate office, and sales to facilitate exceptional customer service and cost control. The Operations Manager Trainee will also be responsible for P&L management, providing a hands-on leadership presence, scheduling personnel, and directing day-to-day activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete and open lines of communication between the warehouse, corporate office, and sales to facilitate exceptional customer service and cost control.
  • Manage P&L and be responsible for the financial performance of the operations.
  • Provide a hands-on leadership presence, schedule personnel, and direct day-to-day activities.
  • Coordinate all day-to-day warehouse activities, including stocking, receiving, and inventory control functions.
  • Supervise and monitor work assignments, workflow, performance, and work standards, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Supervise and oversee delivery drivers, delivery records, and shipping records.
  • Perform administrative duties, including recruiting, testing, new hire orientation, payroll record keeping and reporting, employee appraisals and reviews, progressive discipline issues, and employee terminations.
  • Supervise and oversee maintenance of warehouse equipment and repairs.
  • Ensure facility security and loss prevention.
  • Supervise and oversee order procedures and services to improve fill rate and order turnaround time.
  • Develop and maintain customer rapport and satisfaction, learn and apply new product knowledge to enhance warehouse personnel.
  • Work closely with internal and external departments regarding product identification, information, and other trends on a weekly basis.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience within the construction material distribution industry.
  • Must have operations experience with high-speed production of doors and/or windows.
  • Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to lift 60+ pound weights.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Lean/5S experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting.
