Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer II to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of tools and equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues.
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment, including shut-off valves and plumbing systems.
  • Manage maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of engineering systems, including air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Assist with surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and other engineering-related tasks.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system to ensure safe maintenance practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and vocational or technical background.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
  • Supervisory experience is not required.
