Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing process efficiency and product quality throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This position focuses on developing and refining manufacturing processes by analyzing product specifications and production methods, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the successful implementation of New Product Introductions (NPI) within the manufacturing operations.
  • Support facility transformation initiatives, technology transfers, and the ongoing management of mixed model production lines or value streams.
  • Drive the success of process improvement initiatives by establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and process documentation.
  • Apply demand-driven strategies that align with operational excellence and long-term objectives, focusing on flexibility, speed, and responsiveness.
  • Ensure the seamless flow of products, materials, and information to maximize efficiency and minimize operational costs.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to enhance business performance.
  • Utilize standard Generac tools, methodologies, and practices to promote consistency and quality.
  • Implement continuous improvement objectives to meet customer satisfaction and fulfillment requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with shop floor teams to foster ongoing enhancements in manufacturing methods, systems, and controls.
  • Oversee area layouts, process definitions, PLC programming, and the design, selection, justification, and implementation of equipment and tooling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology, with 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or ProE).
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects across diverse teams.
  • Experience in both high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production settings.
  • Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Track record of managing shifting priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular communication and manual dexterity. The employee will frequently stand and walk, with occasional requirements to stoop, bend, or reach overhead. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary. The position entails extensive computer-based work, necessitating periods of sitting and close visual focus. Occasional travel may be required.
