Occupational Health Technician

Job Summary
Duke University is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Technician to join our team in a full-time position. As an Occupational Health Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our health system.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer routine vaccinations and maintain detailed records of tests performed
- Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture or finger stick and perform drug screenings
- Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests on the premises
- Remove sutures/staples and change sterile and non-sterile dressings
- Maintain clinical supply of patient care supplies and manage the fit testing program
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, vision screening, vaccine administration, TB testing, and color blind screening for groups out of compliance
- Plan and schedule annual audiograms for the departments in the hearing conservation program and prepare and calibrate equipment daily prior to use
- Assist in other EOHW roles and duties when needed, at any of the EOHW's clinics located in Durham or Raleigh, NC
Requirements
- EMT certification or equivalent experience
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant with relevant experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills, self-directed, and ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel programs
