Position Summary

We are seeking a Cost Analysis Engineer with expertise in predicting costs for parts and assemblies. This role is crucial for our expansion and maintaining our legacy of excellence.

The Cost Analysis Engineer will conduct comprehensive cost evaluations for new designs of parts and assemblies. Additionally, this individual will be instrumental in generating total truck cost forecasts to support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.

This senior engineering role offers the chance to establish systems and processes for cost monitoring at Battle Motors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop should-cost models to provide estimations for piece parts and assemblies, aiding NPI and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) efforts.
  • Lead Design for Cost (DFC) initiatives by advising product design engineers on best practices for creating cost-efficient metal and composite components.
  • Contribute to company-wide cost reduction strategies by proposing VAVE project ideas and formulating cost-saving estimates.
  • Assist in the development of new truck platforms by creating costed Bills of Material (BoM) and overseeing product cost aggregation through various stages of maturity.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers by offering insights on cost determinants and process enhancements.
  • Support competitive product analyses by executing cost assessments for individual parts and vendor tooling investments.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, dealers, and customers as necessary.
  • Adapt to complex problem-solving scenarios and shifting priorities.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in cost engineering within the automotive, commercial truck, or heavy equipment sectors, with a strong preference for Class 6/7/8 truck chassis experience.

Familiarity with common production technologies for metal and composites is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Experience with ERP and CRM systems is advantageous.
