Role Overview:
In the capacity of a Cost Control Specialist, you will support Capital Project Management (estimating, cost oversight, scheduling, risk assessment, and change management) throughout the design and construction stages of capital initiatives. This position is based at the client's location.

Key Responsibilities:
- Offering assistance to Project Teams throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Generating project-level reports that include comprehensive analyses of project expenses and modifications
- Overseeing and managing budgets from the initial design phase to project completion
- Facilitating change management and controlling overall project expenditures (including general contractors, direct suppliers, and professional services)
- Evaluating projects to confirm that funding is sufficient by conducting estimates, cost forecasts, cost trends, and actual cost accruals
- Creating cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical sectors
- Preparing estimates for materials, labor, and equipment for conceptual designs, design development documents, bid documents, and change orders
- Estimating and negotiating potential change orders
- Conducting cost validation and quantity surveying as required
- Monitoring compliance and conducting audits
- Reconciling program and project control data with the client's financial management systems
- Presenting cost analysis results to senior management and clients
Essential Skills & Attributes:
- Comprehension of construction methodologies and practices
- Ability to interpret and understand design documentation
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Capability to engage with clients and key stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Commitment to health and safety standards
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of pertinent experience
- Strong proficiency in software applications
