Qualifications:

  • Engages in the examination of actual and foreseeable operational activities within the organization to establish a quantitative and logical foundation for decision-making, employing scientific and economic methodologies.
  • Assists in the development of models and measurement techniques; applies mathematical, statistical, and engineering methodologies, as well as operational mathematics techniques (such as linear programming, game theory, and probability theory), alongside other scientific and economic principles.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the Cyber Research domain, offering consultation on technical solutions for a wide array of complex challenges, ensuring proposed solutions are innovative, thorough, feasible, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Must hold a professional certification as Technical Level II as defined by DODI 8570.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for the Management Army Registry of Networks and Layer-3 Devices (ARNLD) functional area.
  • Conducts updates to the ARNLD to ensure that only correctly configured web servers are permitted to connect from Department of Defense networks to the commercial internet; generates reports as necessary.
  • Delivers surge support, technical guidance, and expertise in Cybersecurity to assist various stakeholders, including Customers, Mission Partners, Information Management Officers, Information System Security Officers, Information System Owners, Software Developers, Network System Administrators, and Database Administrators, in accordance with relevant cyber regulations and directives; presents findings in reports, briefs, and deliverables as required to the appropriate Government representative.
  • Offers Cybersecurity surge support in response to real-world events or additional requirements for Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance checks and documentation reviews across authorization boundaries, including but not limited to:
    • Preparing security reviews for all security controls related to RMF applicable to an assigned authorization boundary based on Confidentiality, Integrity, or Availability designations.
    • Conducting on-site or off-site reviews of all information systems to audit and validate compliance with relevant security controls.
    • Participating as reviewers in audit teams during inspections, assessments, evaluations, and audits.
    • Providing reports to the designated Government representative as required.
    • Conducting reviews, validations, and deliverable efforts to support compliance or non-compliance in accordance with CCI, STIGs, and SRGs for each finding or vulnerability in line with RMF.
    • Delivering embedded Cybersecurity support across the Customer or other supported organizations as necessary.
