Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Lending Manager to join our team at Helm Bank USA. As a key member of our lending division, you will play a critical role in supporting the processing and closing of all commercial loan products and portfolio loan purchases.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the processing and closing of all commercial loan products, including CRE, CD Loans, Lines of Credit, and Renewals.
  2. Engage with attorneys for CRE loans and ensure timely file delivery to booking.
  3. Complete all commercial loan products LAR and process cancellations and denials.
  4. Responsible for HMDA reporting in Encompass and HMDA Wiz system.
  5. Ensure accurate information for HMDA reporting and collect necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
  6. Prepare draft responses for review by the Residential Manager.
  7. Process CRA portfolio purchase loans and funding.
  8. Provide training and ensure adherence to Lending Journey process procedures.
  9. Complete reports such as Withdrawn/Denied/Cancelled Loans, Error Resolution, and Red Flags.
  10. Review pipeline reports and updates, and review and approve invoices, payments, and GL reconciliations.
  11. Process and upload Smart Pay payments for appraisal fees and condo questionnaires.
  12. Review Initial 2nd Home and TRID disclosures.
  13. Serve as backup for closers, processors, and Residential Manager as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
  • NMLS Mortgage License preferred.
  • Five years of mortgage experience, customer service, and general banking experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Basic computer skills and advanced skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Mathematical skills and ability to problem-solve.
  • Customer/client focus, credibility, problem-solving/analysis, teamwork orientation, initiative, stress management, organizational skills, technical capacity, effective communication, and adaptability.

Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Travel:

This position may require some local travel.
