Job Title:
Senior Electrical Engineer

InVeris Training Solutions is a leading provider of weapons training solutions across the globe. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to integrate into the full product life cycle from concept, design, development, proto-build, and transfer designs to manufacturing and sustaining activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing microcontroller-based embedded electronics, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and embedded firmware. Proficiency in EE CAD packages such as Altium, Cadence, or OrCAD is required.

The selected candidate will work with cross-functional design teams to develop electrical embedded systems for electro-mechanical devices. They will also be responsible for reviewing and evaluating product design through design reviews, design verification test plans, production test plans, and failure mode analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing designs that meet system requirements and include prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design release for production.
  • Working with multi-discipline engineering groups and providing support to manufacturing.
  • Developing and implementing embedded firmware for microcontrollers and using software/debug tools.
  • Designing for EMI/EMC/ESD and working with test labs for FCC/CE certifications.

Requirements:
At least 8 years' experience with microcontroller-based embedded electronics design.
Proficient utilizing EE CAD packages for schematic entry and PCB layout design.
Strong skills in designing microcontroller-based designs with embedded analog and digital circuits.
Strong skills in developing and implementing embedded firmware for microcontrollers and ability to use software/debug tools.
Prior experience with I2C/SPI/USB protocol implementation and interfaces.
Knowledge or experience with wireless designs (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/BLE).
Developing and performing design validation testing, circuit analysis, and test fixtures for product life cycle and implementation.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
Designing for EMI/EMC/ESD and working with test labs for FCC/CE certifications is a plus.
Experience with FPGA-based designs for high-speed I/O interfaces is a plus.
Experience with designing electric motor drive systems, encoder interfaces, LAN interfaces is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering or equivalent.
