Job Overview:
A highly skilled Data Analyst is sought after by John H. Northrop & Associates to support Army Aviation science and technology development at Fort Eustis, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, executing, and reporting on testing of autonomous air vehicles while participating in developmental and experimental activities.

About the Role:
This challenging role requires a professional with expertise in data analysis, mathematical modeling, and scientific software tools such as Excel Data Analytics, Access, Python, MATLAB, MS Business Intelligence, and MS suite of office applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and utilizing various methods and techniques to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights to stakeholders. Additionally, the individual will develop and present information in a clear and concise manner using text, charts, tables, graphs, pictures, etc., as appropriate. Documentation of results through writing, editing material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical publications will also be a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop test plans and Data Management and Analysis Plans (DMAP) including test objectives and essential evaluation test metrics.
  • Determine innovative ways to collect aircraft and payload empirical test data and observations and rapidly assess it for relevance.
  • Manage and perform data analysis that involves designing, developing, and utilizing mathematical, statistical, optimization, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques.
  • Present findings in a clear and concise manner using visual aids.
  • Document results through written reports and publications.

Requirements:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in a STEM area or Data Science, Operations Research/Business Operations/Management area from an ABET or equivalent accredited College or University. A minimum of 8 years' experience in the field is required, along with U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Knowledge and understanding of Military Science and Technology and/or Test and Evaluation community (Military or Army Aviation experience preferred) are also desired. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time with extended periods (2-3 weeks) two to three times per year is necessary.
