Job Title: Civil Engineer

Apex Systems is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer with a professional engineer license to support the Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations (FEMO) Branch in Edwards, CA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Civil Engineer to perform requirements planning, large-scale third-party design oversight, internal project design, construction oversight, and operational start-up activities. The successful candidate will work on Task Order 5 of the Engineering and Technical Support Services contract (ETSS) and will be responsible for identifying and ensuring relevant construction codes and standards are included in accordance with company policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Requirements planning and large-scale third-party design oversight
  • Internal project design and construction oversight
  • Operational start-up activities and quality assurance
  • Reviewing third-party designs and providing input to minimize construction project disruption and avoid property loss and waste
Requirements:
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or having passed the F.E. (fundamentals of engineering) exam
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of professional facilities design and construction engineering and management experience
  • Experience with design-bid-build and design-build project delivery mechanisms
  • Ability to review and revise existing standards of engineering techniques, procedures, and practices in building design and building information modeling
  • Ability to coordinate work efforts across other engineering, architecture, and construction disciplines to arrive at best technical and value-based solutions
  • Must be able to work a 9/80 schedule
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
