About the Role

We are seeking a Housing and Support Specialist to join our team at SEBCO, a thriving Bronx-based Not-For-Profit Affordable Housing Developer. With over 50 years of successful operation, our organization is dedicated to developing and maintaining affordable housing in the Bronx and providing supportive services and security to our residents and the entire neighborhood.

The ideal candidate will have a BSW or BA in Sociology or a related field, with 3 years' experience working with the homeless population. A thorough knowledge of social service networks and the ability to diffuse confrontation are essential skills for this position. Additionally, strong written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a team, are necessary to succeed in this role.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Create and maintain client case files on a daily basis.
  • Perform intake and assessment of newly arrived Conditional and Eligible families referred from HERO (Housing Emergency Referral Office), Department of Homeless Services (DHS) within the 48-hour window as mandated.
