Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all processes associated with budget, planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance of all University facilities.
  • Develop and implement unit goals and strategies for public safety and security, master planning, space planning/utilization, laboratory management, academic scheduling, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee building operations and maintenance, including experience with project management, facility interior renovation/repurpose (FF&E).
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for facilities management, including safety and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of facilities-related activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years progressively responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of large institutional facilities and infrastructure.
  • Experience with project management, facility interior renovation/repurpose (FF&E), and experience in a leadership role for a facilities management organization.
  • Knowledge of higher education and state fiscal policies, budget and contract management, space utilization and master planning, and laboratory safety practices and EHS policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • LEED Certification.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.
Work Environment

This position is considered "Essential Personnel" subject to 24/7 day/week span of operations. Work is normally performed during normal working hours, however, it is expected that those in this position work whenever necessary to ensure the facility is running safely and efficiently at all times.

This position requires the ability to lift, bend, stooping, and working at heights. The incumbent must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
