Role Summary:

The Lead Systems Technician will play a pivotal role in the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) Learning Center, focusing on the technical intricacies of the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) systems and their tactical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing installation processes and data management within the Navy Modernization Program (NMP) and Afloat Master Planning System (AMPS) databases to facilitate TTWCS installations.
  • Collaborating with Fleet/Baseline Managers and PMS-421 to secure necessary NMP approvals.
  • Preparing Material Certification Messages for vessels undergoing Tomahawk Material Certification Inspections.
  • Providing monthly TTWCS contributions for C5IMP Data Calls that establish baselines for Tomahawk surface combatants.
  • Engaging in the development of a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for monthly Planned Not Authorized (PNA) reviews.
  • Submitting TTWCS inputs for C5IMP Data Calls relevant to the C5I Modernization Conference (NCMC).
  • Entering eCCB Risk Forms as required for TTWCS installations in the AMPS database.
  • Ensuring that necessary alterations and certifications are either in place or scheduled for ships receiving TTWCS upgrades.
  • Integrating Ship Change Documents (SCD) into the NMP Entitled Process Module in NDE, including the formulation of NMP timelines and the creation of the IWS CCB fielding plan brief.
  • Updating SCD fielding plans to reflect changes in installation schedules.
  • Preparing modifications to the TTWCS installation schedule for the PEO IWS Enterprise Process.
  • Verifying that TTWCS installation dates in the Navy Modernization database align with the PMA installation schedule.
  • Monitoring PEO Ships Letters of Authorization for accuracy concerning upcoming TTWCS installations.
  • Maintaining schedules to support combat system integration and operational verification testing for ship systems and equipment installations for both new construction and active fleet vessels during various availabilities.
  • Coordinating overall Alteration Installation Team (AIT) production activities related to combat systems modernization events and assisting in AIT workbook development.
  • Reviewing various technical documents, including work packages, production schedules, and test procedures.
  • Supporting the development of the Learning Center as necessary, including software loading, modifications, updates, and upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret clearance (to start)
  • A minimum of 12 years as an Enlisted Fire Control Technician (NEC V20A Legacy NEC 1136)
  • At least 6 years of shipboard experience
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams in troubleshooting and integration testing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

Work Environment:

Full-time position with a travel requirement of approximately 15%.
