Job Summary

North Oaks Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Department. As a Physician Assistant, you will work closely with our orthopedic surgeons to provide high-quality patient care and assist with surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
Dictate history and physical examination results
Write orders for appropriate treatments and tests, counter-signed by the supervising physician, in accordance with clinical practice guidelines and/or protocols
Formulate treatment plans and implement therapeutic intervention
Monitor the effectiveness of interventions
Perform and assist with procedures within scope of practice

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Master's degree, baccalaureate degree or a minimum of two years of college credits
Graduate from CAAHEP-approved program
Current NCCPA certification
Hold a current Louisiana Physician Assistant license in the state of Louisiana and comply with any applicable state statutory or regulatory requirements concerning the practice of Physician Assistants

Working Conditions

Must be capable of assisting with the lifting and moving of patients
Must have a thorough knowledge of body mechanics
Must be capable of prolonged standing and walking
Must have no physical or mental health problem that prevents exercising privileges granted
