Job Overview

Position Summary: The Rewind Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in the production process, ensuring the efficient handling and processing of finished goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the handling of completed products as they exit the rewind machine, ensuring they are wrapped according to specifications.
  2. Prepare and organize necessary materials at the rewind area, maintaining sufficient inventory levels.
  3. Change out trim removal bags as needed.
  4. Manage and dispose of scrap materials generated during the rewind process, including customer materials and trimmings.
  5. Detach the shaft from finished rolls.
  6. Insert the shaft into new cores and secure them with tape.
  7. Support the loading of new shafts and cores into the rewind machine, ensuring proper alignment for cutting.
  8. Collect and retain samples for the Operator's review.
  9. Weigh finished products and communicate the results to the Operator.
  10. Safely operate lift trucks and roll poles as required.
  11. Label finished products accurately and transport them to designated storage areas.
  12. Stack and secure finished goods appropriately.
  13. Perform any additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Note: During periods when the production line is not operational, including machine downtime and changeovers, you will receive direction from the Lead Operator and Operator regarding your tasks. It is essential to remain proactive in checking for assignments.

Required Tools: Razor knife, tape measure, allen wrench.
