Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of lifts to ensure safe operation.
  • Move merchandise between staging areas and warehouse racks using lifts.
  • Verify that all merchandise is properly tagged.
  • Maintain a clean and clear work environment, free from trip hazards.
  • Perform inventory reconciliation counting and may debox/unwrap furniture and inspect for defects and damages.
  • Prepare furniture for home delivery.
  • Observe all safety policies and regulations.
  • Perform building maintenance functions.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, unload and load materials using various equipment, and operate warehouse management system to track inventory and update records.
  • Ensure accuracy of shipments by verifying quantities and quality of items received.
  • Organize and store received materials in designated areas.
  • Assist with inventory control by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow in the receiving department.
  • Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines when handling materials and operating equipment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment such as a cherry picker or clamp truck.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying shipments.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly receiving area.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
