Key Responsibilities

Perform Depot Level Maintenance on H-53 Naval Aircraft Mechanical Systems.

  • As an aircraft mechanic, you will utilize blueprints, job orders, engineering specifications, and maintenance instructions to disassemble, repair, rework, and install various systems and components, including wings, control surfaces, landing gear, fuel cells, and engines. You will also be responsible for installing hydraulic tubing and actuating cylinders, as well as rigging and adjusting flight systems.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Conducting installation, adjustment, alignment, and troubleshooting for operational testing on major aircraft weapon systems and components.
  • Troubleshooting aircraft systems and components to identify malfunctions and implementing corrective actions.
  • Disassembling, repairing, and reassembling major aircraft systems and components.
  • Connecting related systems to newly installed or repaired units and ensuring their proper operation.
  • Installing, aligning, and testing mechanical and pneumatic systems during aircraft overhaul or modification.
  • Performing miscellaneous duties such as servicing aircraft, cleaning filters, and checking brakes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and testing H-53 aircraft fuel systems and components.
  • Diagnosing malfunctions in fuel accessories and performing necessary repairs.
  • Fabricating fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines as required.

Administrative Duties:

  • Complying with all required training and administrative functions.
  • Assisting in maintaining NAMP Programs and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Relevant experience as an aircraft mechanic or military experience.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must pass a background investigation for Secret Clearance.
    • U.S. Citizenship is required for access to certain data systems.
    • Must be able to pass a NACI, which may include a credit check.
    • Drug-free workplace with post-offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.

Skills & Technology:

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a focus on problem-solving and organizational techniques.
  • Communication: Proficient in English, with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
