We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual to join our team as a High School Placement Counselor. Reporting to the Director of High School Placement, this role is responsible for providing comprehensive support to middle school scholars and their families throughout the high school placement process.

This is a year-round position, requiring collaboration with school leadership, teaching staff, parents, and guardians to ensure a seamless transition from middle school to high school. The successful candidate will establish close relationships with stakeholders, facilitating open communication and fostering a supportive environment for students to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support scholars in all aspects of the high school admissions process, including essay preparation, test administration, interviews, and financial aid guidance.
  • Teach and assist with high school prep curriculum, preparing scholars for competitive independent day and boarding schools, Catholic, Specialized, and selective public schools.
  • Cultivate relationships with middle school parents through group and individual meetings, providing guidance on high school options, test preparation, and application processes.

In addition to these responsibilities, the High School Placement Counselor will also:

  • Develop and maintain scholar profiles, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for college and university applications.
  • Nominate scholars for academic enrichment programs, performing arts opportunities, and competitive athletic teams.
  • Collaborate with the Director of High School Placement to ensure a comprehensive and integrated high school placement process for all scholars.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in high school admissions, education, or nonprofit industry.
  • Prior teaching experience or working with 5th-8th grade students preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively and be a proactive team player.
  • Familiarity with MySchools, Ravenna, SAO, and Gateway preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
