Since its inception, Parker Road Veterinary Hospital has continually evolved to meet the diverse needs of our clientele. Our establishment is fully equipped and staffed to manage diagnostic, surgical, medical, and wellness requirements.
Our Amenities Include:
a spacious waiting area designed for client comfort, five examination rooms for animals, an in-house laboratory, a federally accredited coggins testing laboratory, a pharmacy, a small animal surgical preparation and dental suite, two surgical suites for small animals, as well as an equine recovery room, equine stocks, equine stalls, and an isolation area.
Additionally, we operate two ambulatory vehicles that are fully outfitted for equine emergencies and routine farm visits.Overview:
We are looking for an Animal Care Technician to join our expanding team and provide outstanding care to our patients. You will collaborate with other skilled animal care professionals, assisting our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians in the daily operations of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities / Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
Assist Veterinarians and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepare patients for surgical and minor procedures, assist in surgeries, and proactively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests.
Safely and compassionately restrain animals.
Accurately obtain vital signs, gather medical histories, and report any changes in a patient's condition to the Veterinarian.
Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
Maintain and care for all medical equipment, including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and other essential tools for daily operations.
Provide high-quality communication with clients regarding patient updates and inquiries.
Position Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Flexible availability, including some weekends and holidays.
Understanding of medical procedures and animal handling.
Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage stressful situations while working collaboratively with a team.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
