About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Team Lead to join our team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. As a key member of our Radiology Services Ancillary team, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of our Nuclear Medicine section.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and triage procedures based on priority level and skills needed.
  • Assure the smooth flow of section activities, recognizing when other staff members need assistance or other resources.
  • Provide expertise in decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, and section operations.
  • Act as the point of contact and resource for hospital staff, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Update imaging guidelines and disseminate protocol changes to staff.
  • Assist department in achieving successful results in all federal, state, and local agency audits.
  • Develop and maintain schedules with oversight from the manager.
  • Monitor equipment and coordinate repairs.
  • Coordinate and participate in the training of new employees and staff.
  • Monitor supplies and equipment inventories.
  • Coordinate reconciliation of patient charges.
  • Coordinate holiday and back up coverage with oversight from the manager.
  • Contribute to decision making for hiring and performance evaluation of imaging employees.
  • Maintain the quality assurance program for the section.
  • Develop and expand staff members imaging skills.
  • Develop protocols and implement quality performance standards.
  • Research and implement new imaging techniques.
  • Instruct and provide guidance for affiliate imaging training program students.
  • Prioritize tasks and duties of all other staff in the section.
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations regarding supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with collection and data analysis.
  • Implement techniques to minimize the occurrence of artifacts and repeats.
Requirements
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (required)
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)
  • Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)
  • 2 years' experience practicing Nuclear Medicine (required)
  • Training in EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
