We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our team at DiGeronimo Companies. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting the project manager and/or superintendent in various aspects of a construction project.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and our project team to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Contract Administration: Administer and monitor compliance with construction contracts with owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Materials and Services Coordination: Coordinate and expedite materials and services for the job site in conjunction with the superintendent.
- Scheduling and Meetings: Schedule and manage meetings throughout each phase of construction and preconstruction.
- Financial Management: Assist the project manager with the management of project budget, budget revisions, cost projections, and cash flow projections. Assist with the generation of reports.
- Design Review: Review and coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP drawings throughout the project.
- Change Management: Assist the project manager in the oversight and management of change management processes.
- Proposal and Negotiation: Collect and analyze trade contractor proposals for scope changes. Review and negotiate the cost for the change in scope to ensure accurate and fair pricing.
- Logistics and Documentation: Log the change management to the correct cost codes. Issue the subcontract change order upon approval of the change by the owner and project manager.
- RFI and Submittal Process: Responsible for the entire RFI process (initiate, review the response, maintain a log, and distribute to the team as appropriate). - Log Maintenance: Responsible to keep accurate and current at all times the drawing log, submittal log, and RFI log.
- Project Meetings: Coordinate all project meetings with the project manager and superintendent prior to the start of the project. Attend owner/architect/CM (contractor) meetings.
- Payment Processing: Collect, review, and process subcontractor payment applications as assigned by the project manager. Assist in compiling owner payment applications.
- Schedule Development: Assist the superintendent and project manager as requested in creating and updating the master schedule.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Work with the team (project manager, project coordinator, superintendent) for the development of the project QA/QC program.
- Close-out Process: Assist the project manager and superintendent with the close-out process. Assist with the preliminary punch list process.
- Warranty Coordination: Coordinate owner-requested warranty requirements during the warranty period.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 2-5 years of previous related experience is required.
- Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of budgeting and expense control. Able to write reports and business correspondence. Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines. Able to perform duties independently. Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications. Strong attention to detail.
- Work Environment: Work performed in a general office environment and at project sites.
- Overtime: Requires overtime hours on a regular basis.
