Job Summary

As a Seafood Night Warehouse Worker, you will assist the manager in ensuring inventory is properly recorded and rotated into stock. You will process fresh fish for customer orders, select products from pick tickets, and stage orders for production. You will also replenish stock as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all incoming seafood is properly rotated into stock
  • Ensure production maintains a steady flow to meet production requirements
  • Read production schedules or customer orders to determine items to be processed, moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Convey materials and items from stocked locations to production areas or storage using electric pallet jacks
  • Lift seafood onto tables, lifting 15-20#s consistently, frequently up to 50# and occasionally up to 100# with assistance
  • Use electric scaling machines to scale fish, involving standing for long periods
  • Sort and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences
  • Work in refrigerated rooms at 30-36 degrees
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items and distributes items
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing stations or shipping departments to prepare for shipping
  • Mark or label items with identifying information
  • Open boxes, crates, and other containers
  • Record amounts of items distributed
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including the warehouse

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
