Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute all tasks and duties as outlined for a Theatrical Production Technician, which includes but is not limited to: preparation for events, stagehand duties, spotlight operation, light board management, audio operation, special effects, and assisting with puppetry and costume changes. Collaborate in the setup, operation, and dismantling of all entertainment shows and events. Provide technical support to external vendors and contractors. Facilitate scene transitions, prop adjustments, and assist with puppeteering, costume alterations, and special effects while offering support to vendors and contractors.
  • Perform as a show technician or warehouse technician in addition to the aforementioned responsibilities.
  • Assist in the installation, operation, and dismantling of all shows and events within the Entertainment Department.
  • Carry out daily operational tasks to support the department, including filling open positions, communicating changes in shows and schedules, and sharing pertinent information with colleagues and management.
  • Diagnose maintenance needs and execute minor repairs on scenic elements, sound systems, lighting systems, and other technical components.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through assigned tasks, special events, and show positions.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, demonstrate respect for others, maintain a positive attitude, and embody teamwork and professionalism. Show a willingness to enhance personal development and positively influence colleagues and vendors/contractors.
  • Uphold cleanliness, maintenance, and safety standards throughout all assigned tasks.
  • Provide technical support and services for all departmental requirements and perform additional functions as directed by management for the benefit of the department and organization.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Resume submission is required for consideration.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and be open to training for operating vans, trucks (non-CDL), and lifts.
  • A college degree in Theatre or a related field is preferred but not mandatory, or equivalent certification or documented experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of general experience in a theatrical setting as a technician, with knowledge of technical theater, including but not limited to: rigging, safety protocols, audio and lighting systems, special effects, video, scenic design, drapery, set decoration, and maintenance and repair. A detailed timeline of experience must be included in the resume for consideration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule without set days off, including early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience with technical equipment and troubleshooting technical issues is required.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, up to four hours at a time, several times during a shift.
  • Ability to stand, bend, or kneel for prolonged periods.
  • Capability to bend, reach, twist, and turn with full flexibility.
  • Position requires lifting, pushing, or pulling a minimum of 50 pounds multiple times throughout a scheduled shift, including overhead lifting.
  • Must be able to climb 60 stairs multiple times daily or ladders up to 40 feet; ability to work at heights of 80 feet is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in environments with atmospheric effects (fog, smoke, haze, mist, bubbles, snow, scents, etc.).
  • Must be able to operate mechanical equipment, including handheld power tools and table-mounted devices.
  • Willingness to be trained in operating trucks (non-CDL) and lifts; a valid driver's license is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, including bright, dark, or confined spaces, as well as wet, cold, high humidity, or extreme heat environments.
  • Employees may be required to be fit tested for P95 or N95 respirator masks as needed. Compliance with OSHA regulations requires employees to be clean-shaven for proper mask sealing; employees should come prepared.
