Job Title: Senior Engineering Geologist

Join the State Water Resources Control Board as a Senior Engineering Geologist in the Groundwater Permitting, Land Disposal and Wastewater Consolidation and Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Storm Water Permitting Section.

Job Summary:

The Senior Engineering Geologist is responsible for supervising the staff in the Land Disposal and Wastewater Consolidation Unit. This includes directing the periodic review of existing individual waste discharge requirements and recommending revision, rescission, or continuance of the requirements. The Senior Engineering Geologist also directs the review of applications for completeness and adequacy, and oversees interpretations, identifications and analyses of geologic materials, aquifer systems, hydrogeologic data, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise staff in the Land Disposal and Wastewater Consolidation Unit
  • Direct the periodic review of existing individual waste discharge requirements
  • Recommend revision, rescission, or continuance of the requirements
  • Direct the review of applications for completeness and adequacy
  • Oversee interpretations, identifications and analyses of geologic materials, aquifer systems, hydrogeologic data, etc.
Requirements:
  • Must have a PG license
  • Must have Senior Engineering Geologist list, transfer, or reinstatement eligibility and be reachable on the certification list
