Job Title: Senior Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As a key member of our environmental consulting team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations for subsurface investigation projects throughout California, including proposal generation, technical execution, reporting, and invoicing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project life cycles, including proposal generation, technical execution, reporting, and invoicing.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Execute project work related to due diligence, site investigation, and characterization, remediation, and environmental consulting areas.
  • Develop new clients and expand services provided to existing clients in collaboration with local management.
  • Participate in professional and technical organizations relevant to core skill sets and client needs.
  • Prepare and review reports, assisting with data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation, and comparison to state and federal environmental regulatory standards.
  • Interact positively with internal and external clients, service partners, and contractors.
  • Promote a safety-first culture that values proactive measures and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide client-centric services with high-quality interactions and deliverables.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or other applied science.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, field work, data evaluation, technical writing, and QA/QC in the environmental consulting field.
  • Working knowledge of procedures and methodologies related to due diligence, site investigation, and remediation.
  • Experience with client management, contract management, business development, and participation in professional organizations.
  • Experience with implementation and supervision of health and safety requirements.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and motor vehicle background check.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Technical Requirements:
  • Experience with environmental consulting and project management in California.
  • Current registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER training and 8-hour annual refresher.
  • Complete Atlas Project Manager I training within 6 months of hire.
Other Qualities:
  • Experience managing contracts for the State of California and specifically hazardous waste contracts for Caltrans considered a plus.
  • Experience with aerially deposited lead (ADL) a plus.
Compensation:

$150 - $175k annual salary

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed-upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
