Firefighter (Paramedic)

This is a challenging opportunity to join the U.S. Marine Corps as a firefighter (paramedic). As a member of our team, you will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, providing medical care, and conducting fire suppression operations.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to structure fires, operate hydrants, lay hose lines, and perform ladder operations to effect fire suppression.
- Perform assigned firefighting tasks at major warehouse structures, ordinance storage facilities, and other hazardous locations.
- Respond to emergency alarms involving vehicles, ammunition, gasoline, electrical hazards, and other hazardous materials.
- Provide advanced patient assessment and treatment for victims of fire, sudden illness, accidental injuries, childbirth, and other medical emergencies.
- Detect the presence of potentially hazardous materials and maintain containment and control.
- Maintain care of emergency equipment, including backboards, suction devices, splints, stretchers, oxygen delivery systems, and monitoring equipment.
- GS-08: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- GS-09: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

Additional conditions of employment: For the GS-08 grade, you must be certified by either the DOD, the Pro-Board, or the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) with the following firefighter certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials Technician, or Hazardous Materials MSCs Product Control & Mas Decon within a maximum of 24 months after appointment date. For the GS-09 grade, you must be certified by either the DOD, the Pro-Board, or the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) with the following firefighter certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Hazardous Materials Technician, or Hazardous Materials MSCs Product Control & Mas Decon, Driver/Operator Pumper, Driver/Operator Aerial Fire Instructor I.
