Role Summary: The Renewable Energy Control Room Operator is tasked with the comprehensive oversight and management of our Operations Control Center (OCC). This role involves the continuous monitoring and operation of all renewable energy assets, including Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Wind, ensuring that they function safely and efficiently while meeting their generation targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage renewable energy assets, addressing alarms and warnings, implementing curtailment procedures, and executing emergency action plans.
  • Ensure optimal SCADA connectivity and troubleshoot any communication failures to maintain uninterrupted control and monitoring capabilities.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the OCC and local site personnel, balancing authorities, transmission operators, and off-takers.
  • Maintain accurate operator logs documenting real-time activities, notifications, and communications as per procedural and contractual obligations.
  • Assist the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Asset Management teams in responding swiftly to market events and supporting cost-effective scheduling and settlements.
  • Coordinate with Scheduling Entities for unplanned outages.
  • Support the Maintenance Team in executing maintenance plans, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, equipment identification, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of plant operating manuals, technical references, and maintenance records.
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with company policies, including the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct.
  • Exhibit a safety and quality-oriented mindset while leading by example.
  • Maintain a high level of energy and positivity, fostering teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Technical, Electrical, or Engineering fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Control Room or renewable energy environment.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and progress control techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree with direct experience in operations control centers.
  • Proficient in energy management software, SCADA systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Key competencies include teamwork, effective communication, passion for continuous improvement, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel domestically 5-15% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $30.29 - $35.00, with final compensation determined by education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
