CAD Programmer Position at Kloeckner Metals

The CAD Programmer role is a vital part of our team at Kloeckner Metals. We are seeking an experienced individual to join our operations department as a CAD Programmer. This position involves utilizing advanced CAD software and CNC equipment to create and manage engineering drawings and NC files.

Job Responsibilities:
  • CAD and CNC Software Use: Operate industry-standard CAD software and CNC manufacturer's programming software to generate precise engineering drawings and NC files.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Interpret complex customer-generated geometry, third and first-angle orthographic projections, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and customer drawings/specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordination: Facilitate seamless production and technical communications between customers, sales, and production teams.
  • File Management: Import CAD files into nesting software to optimize material utilization and production efficiency by nesting parts on sheets or blanks.
  • Nesting: Program CNC equipment and document revisions as required to maintain efficient production processes.
  • Tooling and Fixtures Design: Assist in the design of tooling and fixtures to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Equipment Understanding: Maintain a thorough understanding of equipment used for processing to ensure optimal performance.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Contribute to process improvements and conduct cost-benefit analyses of new tooling and application considerations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory lists of tooling and cutting parameters.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of practical CAD programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Education: Two-year technical degree in Computer Programming, Computer-Aided Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • AutoCAD
    • Pronest
    • Ncell systems
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
