Overview of the Role

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year

This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of medical staff applications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire credentialing process for all medical staff applicants, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collect, verify, and process all required documentation, including applications, licenses, certifications, and references.
  • Conduct primary source verification of credentials and track the status of all applications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete credentialing files.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Joint Commission.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the credentialing database.
  • Generate reports and analyze data related to credentialing activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with applicants, medical staff, and other departments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in medical staff functions, preferably in a hospital or managed care environment.
  • Strong computer and information management skills required. Microsoft Word, Access, and other medical staff software preferred.
  • CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) certification preferred.
