Position Overview:
The FGP Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting physicians and Advanced Care Practitioners, as well as nursing staff, in various clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:


• Guide patients to examination rooms and ensure they are comfortable.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.


• Accurately measure and document patient vital signs.


• Collect and process blood samples in accordance with established protocols.


• Adhere to quality standards by accurately documenting information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).


• Foster a positive patient experience through effective communication.


• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to address any issues.


• Manage incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.


• Follow up on prescription refill requests and assist with patient intake processes.


• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as required.

Clinical and Administrative Duties:


• Conduct necessary patient intake procedures, including vital signs and preliminary tests.


• Ensure patient medical records are accurate and up-to-date.


• Assist in maintaining patient flow within the facility.


• Ensure compliance with infection control standards in exam and treatment areas.


• Educate patients about MyChart and coordinate translation services as needed.


• Conduct point-of-care testing, including EKGs and urinalysis, while adhering to organizational policies.


• Prepare patient encounters by reviewing relevant medical information.


• Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain safety and quality standards.


• Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


• Document all patient communications and refer clinical questions to appropriate staff.


• Assist with the management of in-basket messages related to patient care.


• Support physicians during procedures and maintain supply inventories.


• Complete required training and competencies to ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Ensure consistency in patient experiences by following established service principles.


• Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear information about their care.


• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve patient inquiries and enhance service delivery.


• Anticipate patient needs and participate in service recovery efforts when necessary.


• Work with various departments to promote a positive patient experience.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or current certification from a recognized institution is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in English, both verbal and written, and possess strong computer skills. Experience in a collaborative healthcare environment is preferred.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in EKG, phlebotomy, and venipuncture is advantageous.
