Position Overview:
The FGP Healthcare Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This position involves assisting physicians and Advanced Care Practitioners in various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:


• Guide patients to examination rooms and prepare them for their appointments.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical spaces.


• Accurately measure and document vital signs of patients.


• Collect and process blood samples in accordance with established protocols.


• Uphold quality standards by adhering to FGP guidelines for documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).


• Foster a welcoming environment for patients to enhance their experience.


• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and administrative personnel, addressing any concerns as necessary.


• Manage incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.


• Process prescription refill requests and assist with patient intake documentation.


• Perform various clinical and administrative duties as required.

Clinical and Administrative Duties:


• Conduct patient intake procedures, including obtaining vital signs and relevant tests.


• Ensure accuracy in patient medical records by validating information.


• Assist in maintaining patient flow within the facility.


• Adhere to infection control standards by ensuring cleanliness of clinical areas.


• Educate patients about MyChart and its functionalities during intake.


• Coordinate translation services as needed prior to patient visits.


• Collect specimens and ensure they are handled according to organizational policies.


• Conduct point-of-care testing, including EKGs and glucose tests, following established guidelines.


• Prepare patient encounters by reviewing relevant medical history and documentation.


• Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain safety logs and compliance with FGP standards.


• Document patient interactions and orders accurately in the EMR.


• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.


• Assist with message management in the EMR system, addressing patient medical advice requests.


• Support physicians during procedures as needed.


• Ensure medical supplies are stocked and available in treatment areas.


• Participate in training and compliance activities related to safety and quality standards.

• Ensure consistent and positive experiences for patients through effective communication.


• Anticipate patient needs and address concerns proactively.


• Collaborate with administrative teams to enhance patient access and satisfaction.


• Educate staff on best practices for patient access and service delivery.

Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or current certification from a recognized institution is necessary. Proficiency in English is essential, and additional language skills are a plus. Strong computer skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment are also required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in EKG, phlebotomy, and venipuncture is preferred.
