Clinical Nurse Educator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at BioSpace, Inc. as a field-based position. The successful candidate will provide logistical and educational assistance to patients and caregivers, as well as office staff, including physicians, nurses, and social workers.

The Clinical Nurse Educator will work closely with patients and families, as well as physicians and their staff, to prevent and address barriers to patient medication access and improve patient adherence. This will involve providing home-based training on proper use of medication, including self-injection techniques, and supporting and educating patients and caregivers about patient services for ACTIMMUNE, including product support and information, dosing and administration, reimbursement services, and other education as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate degree or equivalent, with 2 years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement, or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience. An active and unencumbered RN license is required. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, as is experience directly supporting patients, account management/institutional experience, and familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and FDA requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide logistical and educational assistance to patients and caregivers
  • Work closely with patients and families, as well as physicians and their staff
  • Provide home-based training on proper use of medication
  • Support and educate patients and caregivers about patient services for ACTIMMUNE
  • Secure written opt-in and consent waivers to the patient support program for patients in the region
  • Maintain routine and proactive contact with patients
  • Educate patients about insurance options when necessary
  • Help patients and families to resolve logistical challenges with insurance and pharmacies
  • Respond immediately to patient and patient family questions and concerns
