Join Airgas USA, LLC as an Automation Service Specialist and take on a challenging role that requires technical expertise and strong communication skills.
About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Service Specialist to join our team. As an Automation Service Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining Airgas Safety standards and procedures, directing and supervising team installations and retrofits of Airgas fixed and flexible automation equipment, and troubleshooting and completing necessary repairs and performing routine maintenance on all types of Airgas equipment and products sold and maintained by the Advanced Fabrication Group.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and maintain Airgas Safety standards and procedures
- Direct and supervise team installations and retrofits of Airgas fixed and flexible automation equipment
- Troubleshoot and complete necessary repairs and perform routine maintenance on all types of Airgas equipment and products sold and maintained by the Advanced Fabrication Group
- Regional travel with extended periods of overnight stays required
- Ability to represent the Company to our customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Completes all service orders in a neat and timely fashion and obtains customer's signature via Service Software electronic ticketing system prior to leaving facility
- Assist Regional Weld Process Specialists and local sales teams in technical sales support
- Maintains company provided diagnostic equipment, tools and other equipment in clean, good working condition and within manufacturer's recommendations
- Calibrations and certifications on equipment are to be kept up to date
- Properly safeguards and secures all company issued equipment at all times
- Communicates with Regional Advanced Fab Director, Regional Service Manager and Service Coordinator(s) on the job status, daily activities and unsafe conditions at the job site continuously in real time through Service Software database and direct communication
- Communicates with Service Coordinator(s), suppliers, vendors and customers on parts and other required materials
- Monitors progress of results and deliveries and notifies Service Coordinator(s) when delays are observed or expected
- Performs and completes all work on Airgas customer equipment per Company procedures
- Updates Tech Software database with activities and results
- Monitors and meets scheduled appointments on Airgas customer's equipment
- Maintains confidentiality with customers
- Attends all assigned career development training and passes all qualifying assessments
- Reports all business expenses in a timely manner via company policies
- Must be able to wear protective equipment as needed
- Must be able to use trade type tools and hand tools
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record within company policies
- Follows Airgas safety procedures and attends monthly safety meetings
- Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics / Electrical Engineering, Technical school; work experience could supersede educational requirements
- Valid state driver's license
- Minimum of 2 years of prior related electrical and or electronics repair experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Intermediate knowledge of Google suite applications
